Mary Evelyn Smith Teague, 77, of Lexington, passed away March 16, 2015, at Hinkle Hospice House.
A celebration of her life will be 11 a.m. Saturday, March 21, 2015, at Hedrick’s Grove Reformed United Church of Christ, where she was a lifelong member, with the Rev. William Sowers officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends in the church fellowship hall from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. prior to the service.
Mrs. Teague was born April 7, 1937, in Davidson County, to Roby Marshall Smith and Zula Hedrick Smith. She had been a member of the church choir for many years. Her passion was her faith, church, family and especially her grandchildren. She also enjoyed gardening. Mary was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother, who will be missed by all. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by brother, Willard Eugene Smith who died January 10, 2014.
Surviving are her loving husband, Jim Teague of the home; daughters, Sarah Williams and husband Duane and Evelyn Johnson and husband Jack, both of Lexington; grandchildren, Eva and Anlie Williams and Jay and Cole Johnson; and many special family and friends.
