Mary Cole Thompson

Mary Cole Thompson, 79, of Lingle Farm Road, Lexington died Wednesday, January 29, 2014 at Hinkle Hospice House after an extended illness. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm Saturday, Feb. 1, 2014 at Reeds United Methodist Church with Rev. Duncan Martin officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 pm Friday, Jan. 31, 2014 at Davidson Funeral Home and other times at the home. Mrs. Thompson was born September 12, 1934 in Davidson County to Wiley Franklin Cole and Nellie Hailey Cole. She was a retired employee of Lexington Furniture and a member of Reeds United Methodist Church. Preceding her in death was her parents, a brother, Herman Franklin Cole and a sister, Betty Jean Slemp. Surviving are a son, Marlon Thompson of Lexington; a brother, John Cole (Debbie) of Lexington; three sisters, Lorene Johnston of Statesville, Virginia Leonard (Ed), Kate Smith all of Lexington; and many Nieces and Nephews.
