WELCOME - Mary Kinnamon Willard, 91, of Lanier Drive, Welcome, passed away at 11:25 a.m. on Friday, Jan. 20, 2006, at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home after a sudden illness.
Mrs. Willard was born on Sept. 29, 1914, in Forsyth County to Alvin Eugene Kinnamon and Amanda Miller Kinnamon. She was a member of Bethlehem UCC and retired from R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Co. She was preceded in death by her husband, Norman Michael Willard; brothers Lewis Kinnamon and Charles Kinnamon; and sisters Emma Cline, Carrie Kinnamon, Ruth Spaugh, Bertha Bell, Faith Longworth, Hazel Coffey and Iris Byrne.
Surviving are sons Norman Michael Willard Jr. and wife Beth of Bell Haven and Steve H. Willard and wife Alice of Pensacola, Fla.; daughters Teena Franklin and husband Freddie of Lexington and Cecelia Foltz and husband Jimmie of Advance; 14 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.
A funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday, Jan. 23, at Bethlehem United Church of Christ, with the Rev. Arron Long and the Rev. Albert Smith officiating. Burial will follow at Bethlehem United Church of Christ Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today, Jan. 22, at Davidson Funeral Home -Hickory Tree Chapel.
