Mary Sink Zimmerman

December 31, 1910 — September 6, 2011

Mary Louise Brinkley Zimmerman, 100, of Ridge Rd., Lexington passed away Tuesday, September 6, 2011 at her home.   A funeral service will be held at 3:00 pm Saturday, September 10, 2011 at Pilgrim Lutheran Church with Rev. Craig D. Saltzer officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.   The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 pm Friday, September 9, 2011 at Davidson Funeral Home and other times at the home.   Mrs. Zimmerman was born December 31, 1910 in Davidson County to Charlie Brinkley and  Carrie Koonts Brinkley.  A designer with Briggs Furniture, she was a member of Pilgrim Lutheran Church.  She was very active as long as health permitted in church activities and was a member of several garden clubs.  She was preceded in death by three husbands, Dermont Sink, Clifford Hill, Millis Zimmerman and a son, Charles Sink.   Surviving are a cherished daughter, Anne Cashwell of Winston-Salem; two step-daughters, Jeanette Newlin and Clara Clayton; one step-son, Andy Hill of Lexington; a daughter-in-law, Katherine Sink; six grandchildren, Charles Cashwell and wife, Cynthia, of Key West, Fl., Kim Murray and husband, Bill, of Kernersville, Kathy Sink of Sanford, Robert Sink and wife, Robin of Clinton, Michael Sink and wife, Stacey, of Durham, Dr. Mary Anne May and husband, Dr. Marty Mayo, of Charlottesville, VA; 11 great grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews; and other relatives. Five care givers, Ms. Rhonda Little, Mrs. Tyshell Carter, Ms. Schansi Autery, Ms. Marsha Reaves, Ms. Sonja McFarlin and a dear and devoted friend, Mr. Tony Crotts.   Online condolences may be made at www.davidsonfuneralhome.net
