Betty Marzell Bates Crotts, 92, passed away on Saturday, May 1, 2021.
A graveside service will be held at Forest Hill Memorial Park 2:00 pm Saturday, May 8 th , with Reverend Elizabeth Horton officiating. All Covid related precautions and restrictions will be practiced.
Marzell was born September 29, 1928, in Davidson County, to Thomas Noble Bates and Elsie Odessa Burkhart Bates. She retired after over 50 years of work with Leonard Cleaners; then later worked in the cafeteria at Lexington City Schools. Mrs. Crotts was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Cloys Crotts; two brothers, Edgar Bates and Bobby Bates; two sisters, Juanita Beck and Pam Kennedy; and a sister in-law, Betty Bates.
She is survived by a brother, John “J.W” Bates of Lexington; a brother in-law, Jack Kennedy of Pfafftown; two sisters in-law, Peggy Bates and Brenda Bates both of Lexington; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Reformed United Church of Christ, 104 E Center St. Lexington, NC 27292
