Matthew Forman “Pete” Tysinger, 86, of Ty-Koon Drive, died Saturday, June 15, 2013, at Hinkle Hospice House, following a six month illness.
The funeral will be 4 p.m. Sunday, June 23, 2013, at Bethany United Methodist Church, where he was a member, with the Rev. David Talbert officiating. The family will receive friends from 3 to 4 p.m. in the church fellowship hall prior to the service
Mr. Tysinger was born May 28, 1927, in Davidson County, to Sidney Bynum Tysinger and Elizabeth Sturdivant Tysinger. He was a graduate of Linwood High School and was a lifetime member of the Central Davidson Boosters Club. He had served in the Merchant Marines and was retired from auction sales.
Surviving are sons, Gregg Tysinger and wife Charlotte and Blaine Tysinger and wife Amy, all of Lexington; daughter, Karen Fritts and husband Johnny of Lexington; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren.
