Mattie Hawks

Mattie Sue Martin Hawks, 71 of N. Hwy. 150, Lexington died Friday, May 6, 2011 at her home after an extended illness. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm Tuesday at Reedy Creek Baptist Church with Pastor Ronnie Comer officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 pm Monday at Davidson Funeral Home and other times at the home. Mrs. Hawks was born March 18, 1940 in Henry County, VA to Harry Alvis Martin and Lillian Frances Joyce. She retired from Sara Lee as an Office Manager, and she attended Currytown Baptist Church and also Grapevine Baptist Church. Surviving are a son, Eddie Hawks of Lexington; two grandchildren, Nikki Cope and Kailee Fine both of Lexington; five great grandchildren, Peyton Hawks, Gracie Cope, Madison Hawks, Chloe Fine, Ryder Fine all of Lexington; two brothers, Richard Joyce and wife, Lola, Russell Joyce both of Virginia, a sister, Peggy Lanning of Virginia and a special friend, Lum Stillie.
