Mavis Strickland Raynor

Mavis L. Strickland Raynor, 86, of Carolina House, died Friday, June 21, 2013, at Hinkle Hospice House. An inurnment service will be 11 a.m. Monday, June 24, 2013, at Wayne Memorial Park, 2925 US Highway 117 South, Goldsboro, NC, with the Rev. Jim Willoby. Mrs. Raynor was born October 30, 1926, in Edgecombe County, to Hirum Strickland and Annie Glascow Strickland. She was a nurse assistant for Woodard Nursing Home and a member of Lakeview Baptist Church. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husbands, Lonnie S., Raynor and Bruce Coolidge Byerly. Surviving are son, Jeff Raynor (Sandra) of Lexington; daughters, Mary Ann McNeill (Ralph) of Williamston, Janice Raynor of Morehead City, and Cheryl Boyle (Gerald) of Cary; 11 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and sister, Eva “PeeWee” Crawford of Sharpesburg.
