Max Lewis Smith

Max Lewis Smith, 80, of Trailer Drive, died Thursday, December 8, 2011, at Hinkle Hospice House, following a three month illness. The funeral will be 2 p.m. Sunday, December 11, 2011, at Davidson Funeral Home Chapel with the Chaplain Charlie Patrick officiating. Burial will follow in Lexington City Cemetery. Mr. Smith was born March 31, 1931, in Davidson County, to Lee Smith and Mamie Wicks Smith. He was retired from Dacotah Mill. Surviving are his son, M. Douglas Smith of Kernersville; daughters, Debbie S. Beck and husband, Hoy, Sherry Smith, both of Lexington, and Kay S. Kerr and husband, Larry, of Greensboro; grandchildren, Jeremy Smith, Nathan Beck, and Taylor Smith; great-grandchild, Hailey Smith; special friend, Sadie Coble Smith; and sisters, Mary S. Shoaf and Rae S. Myers, both of Lexington. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Davidson County, 200 Hospice Way, Lexington, NC 27292.
