Max Carlton McBride, 80, of Lexington, died Sunday, June 12 at Abbotts Creek Center in Lexington.
A graveside service will be held at 11 am Wednesday, June 15 at Forest Hill Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 9:30 to 10:30 am at Davidson Funeral Home prior to the service and other times at the home of the daughter on Silverwood Lane, Lexington.
Mr. McBride was born May 31, 1936 in Davidson County to Udell McBride and Laura Sharpe McBride. His first job was a paper route on his bicycle for The Dispatch when he was young. After graduating from Lexington High School, he worked for Coble Dairy, and later retired from Proctor & Schwartz after 36 years of service. He was a member of the Davidson County four wheelers club and a lifetime member of the Loyal Order of the Lexington Moose Lodge 317. His brother, Winfred McBride, preceded him in death.
He is survived by his wife, Carolyn Easter McBride, of the home; his daughters, Sherry McBride, and Teresa Vickers and friend, Jim, all of Lexington; his brother, Donnie McBride and wife, Judy, of Lexington; his sister in law, Gail McBride, of Winston Salem; his grandson, Clay Vickers, and several nieces.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the charities that Max enjoyed supporting: the American Cancer Society, 4-A Oak Branch Drive, Greensboro NC 27407 and Cancer Services of Davidson County, 25 W. Sixth Ave, Lexington NC 27292.
