Max Robertson Potter, 74, of Fairground Road, and formerly of Sharon Drive, Lexington, died Monday night, March 17, 2008, at his home.
Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Davidson Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Randy Starkey. Burial will follow in Forest Hill Memorial Park with military rites by VFW Post 10346.
A celebration of his life will be held at a later date at East Bend Baptist Church.
Mr. Potter was born in Watauga County on Feb. 15, 1934, to Ruby Potter. He was a retired employee of Swing Transport Company, life member of the VFW, former member of VFW Post 3074 in Lexington and a member of the Yadkin VFW Post 10346. He was a veteran of the Korean War. He was preceded in death by his mother and his wife, Maxie Mikles Potter.
Surviving is his wife, Dorothy Matthews Potter of the home.
The family will receive friends from 12:30 until 2 p.m. Thursday prior to the service.
