Max Allen Wallace, 80, of Lexington, died Friday, March 16, 2007, at Britthaven of Davidson.
A memorial service will be at 5 p.m. Tuesday at Davidson Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel, by Father Al Gondek.
Mr. Wallace was born Aug. 19, 1926, in Manly, Iowa, to Eugene Clarence Wallace and Mildred Julia Brown Wallace. He was a retired employee of Duracell USA and attended Our Lady of the Rosary Catholic Church. He was a 32nd degree Mason and a life member of the Blue Lodge of Davenport, Iowa. He was a World War II Navy veteran and served on the USS Douglas H. Fox. A brother, Russell Eugene Wallace, and a sister, June Maxine Abresch, preceded him in death.
Surviving are his wife, Joan Hoover-Wallace of the home; one daughter, Rhonda Riddle and her husband, Jon, of Greensboro; two grandchildren, Mica Riddle and Laken Riddle; two brothers, Jack Lewis Wallace and Wayne Roger Wallace, both of Davenport, Iowa; one sister, Mirian Beth Holden of Davenport, Iowa; and his special friend, his dog, Doogan.
The family will receive friends from 4 to 5 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home prior to the service.
