Max Douglas Winebarger, 69, of Allred Road, went home to be with his Lord and Savior Monday, January 30, 2012, at Wake Forest Baptist Health – Lexington Medical Center.
The Funeral will be 2 p.m. Thursday, February 2, 2012, at Spruce Street Baptist Church, where he was a member, with the Rev. Terry Coates officiating. Burial will follow at Maranatha Baptist Church. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, February 1, 2012 at Davidson Funeral Home and other times at the home.
Mr. Winebarger was born October 10, 1942, in Todd, NC to Roby Winebarger and Adeline Winebarger. He served in the U.S. National Guard, was a retired electrician from PPG and was a member of the choir at his church. In addition to his parents Mr. Winebarger was preceded in death by brothers, Clifford, Eben, Blaine, Roger, and Aaron Winebarger; and sisters, Mary Roach, Louise Greer, Jennie and Martha Winebarger.
Surviving are his loving wife, Nancy Carol Haithcox Winebarger of the home; son, Craig Winebarger of Lexington; daughter, Dawn Green and husband, Mark, of West Virginia; step-daughter, Tammy Gibson of Thomasville; grandchildren, Jon Green, Ally Green and Carly Green, all of West Virginia; brother, Bud Winebarger and wife, Wanda, of Statesville; and sisters, Mae Baity of Moravian Falls, Gladys Bryant of Harmony, and Betty Todd and husband, Pastor Thomas Todd, of Lexington.
