Maxine McNeil Anderson, 85, passed away Friday, June 30, 2017, at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. The funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday, July 5, at Davidson Funeral Home – Hickory Tree Chapel with the Revs. Jimmy Newsome and Dan Nelson officiating. Burial will follow at Parklawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friend prior to the service from 1 to 2 p.m. at the funeral home and other times at their respective homes. Maxine was born in West Virginia on June 20, 1932, to Spencer Lee and Thurma York McNeil. She retired from Sara Lee Hosiery with 41 years of service. She was a member of Friedberg Moravian Church where she was a diener for 42 years. She was preceded in death by her parent; her husband of 67 years, Dallas G. Anderson (January 23, 2016); and sisters, Catherine Weisner (Russell) Estelle Litewski (Leonard), Inez Grubb (Charlie) Lorain Valentine (Dick). Surviving are two sons, Wayne Anderson (Linda) of Arcadia, and David Anderson (Sue) of Midway; three grandchildren, Julie Davis (Joey), Jennifer Weisner (Justin), and Michael Anderson (Jennifer); five great-grandchildren, Christopher Davis, Brady Weisner, Lexi Weisner, William Anderson, and Kate Anderson; sister, Wilma Merritt (Paul); and two brothers, J.R. McNeil (Susan) of Arizona and Ray McNeil (Liz) of King. Memorials may be made to Friedberg Moravian Church, 2178 Friedberg Church Road, Winston-Salem, NC 27127.
