Maxine Callahan

Maxine Nell Swicegood Callahan, 92, of Lexington, passed away peacefully on Christmas Day, December 25, 2024.

A private graveside service will be held at Reeds United Methodist Church with Pastor Gary Gibson officiating. There will be no formal visitation.

Born on July 4, 1932, in Davidson County, she was the daughter of the late Henry Ray Swicegood and Effie Walser Swicegood. Mrs. Callahan was a devoted member of Reeds United Methodist Church. A loving mother and grandmother, she will be deeply missed by her family. She was preceded in death by her husband, Troy Windell Callahan; her son, Jeffrey Troy Callahan; her daughter, Barbara Callahan Thomas; her grandson, Clint Fitzgerald Callahan; her great-granddaughter, Harper Callahan; her brothers, Mock Swicegood, and Verne Swicegood; and her sisters, Melrose S. Forrest, Dorothy S. Mize, Betty S. Sowers, and Virginia S. Reich.

Left to cherish her memory are her grandsons, Jacob Cole Callahan (Jodi), and Matthew Troy Callahan (Hannah); and her great-grandchildren, Cole, Carter, Connor, and Hudson.
