Maxine Jordan Carter

Maxine Jordan Carter, 82, of Queens Road, died Monday, November 05, 2007, at Lexington Memorial Hospital, after declining health of one and a half years. The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, November 8, 2007, at Davidson Funeral Home by the Rev. J. Randy Hall. Burial will follow in Forest Hill Memorial Park. Mrs. Carter was born May 24, 1925, in Davidson County to Charlie Walter Jordan and Zannie Mae Nichols Jordan. She was owner/operator of Queens Chateau and the Pink Patio Beauty Salon. She was a member of St. Timothy’s United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by brothers, Charles Vernon Jordan and Rodney Kent Jordan; and sisters, Betty Jean Parker, Peggy Shaw and Allene Haralson. Surviving are her husband, Harold S. Carter of the home; a son, H. Wayne “Rock” Carter of North Myrtle Beach, S.C.; a daughter, Wanda Carter Odell and husband, Frank, of Lexington; granddaughters, Christy Odell Hoper Murphy and husband, Ramu, and Jennifer Odell; great-granddaughter, Ayanna Hoper; sisters, Norma Greene and Clatie Berrier and husband, Don, all of Lexington; sister-in-law, Joann Jordan of Lexington; and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home and other times at the home on Queens Road. Memorials may be made to Davidson Medical Ministries, P.O.
