Maxine Harris Conrad

Maxine Harris Conrad, age 83, of Piedmont Crossing Thomasville formerly of Arland Drive, Lexington passed away Sunday morning January 22, 2012 at Hinkle Hospice House. Funeral service will be held 2:00 pm Tuesday, January 24, 2012 at Holly Grove Lutheran Church with Pastor John Mocko officiating.  Burial will follow in Holly Grove Lutheran Church Cemetery.   Gathering of friends will be Tuesday, January 24, 2012 in the fellowship hall of Holly Grove Lutheran Church from 12:30 until 1:30 pm.   Maxine was born in Davidson County, August 8, 1928 to William Victor Harris and Alma Lookabill Harris. She was a member of Holly Grove Lutheran Church, former member of Lady’s Circle and former choir member. She retired in 1990 from the NC Employment Security Commission working in Lexington and Davidson County Community College, satellite office. She attended Ashemore Business College. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Clyde Elwood Conrad on July 13, 2006 sister, Virginia Page and a brother, Luther Harris.   Maxine is survived by her daughter, Patti Brewer and husband Frank of Lake Lure, NC; her son, David Conrad and wife Sara of Lincoln, NE; three grandchildren, William and Adam Conrad; Sarah Lockett and husband Steve; one sister, Willa Mae Lambeth of Thomasville.   Memorials may be directed to Holly Grove Lutheran Church, 212 Holly Grove Lutheran Church Road, Lexington, NC  27292 or to Hinkle Hospice House, 200 Hospice Way, Lexington, NC  27292     Online condolences may be made at www.davidsonfuneralhome.net
