HEADING NAME: Maxine Rose Johnson
Maxine Todd Rose Johnson, 76, of Welcome, died Tuesday, August 20 at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in Winston Salem after an illness of two months.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, August 24 at Gethsemane Baptist Church, by the Revs. Larry Michaels, Clyde Akers, and Eric Disher. Burial will follow at Floral Garden Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Friday at Davidson Funeral Home.
Mrs. Johnson was born April 29, 1937 in Randolph County to Andy Mack Todd and Clara Mae Vestal Todd. She retired from Lexington Furniture Industries and was a member of Gethsemane Baptist Temple. She was an over 60 Grandover Show Stoppers champion. Her husbands, Virgil Harman, Willaim Roy Rose, and Eddie Johnson, preceded her in death, as well as her son in law, Rodney Kenny.
She is survived by her son, Freddie Wayne Rose, Sr. and wife, Regina, of Southmont; her daughters, Ann Paul and husband, James, of Lexington and Robin Kenny of Conway, SC; her brother, Wayne Todd and wife, Jamie, of Arkansas; her friend and sister, Louise Paul of Lexington; her cousin and sister, Alice Faye Barrlett of High Point; 13 grandchildren, and 16 great-grandchildren.
