Maxine Swing Leonard

Mrs. Maxine Swing Leonard, 85, of Hargrave Road, died Tuesday, November 29, 2011 at the Hinkle Hospice House. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday, December 1 at Linwood United Methodist Church by the Revs. Renee Easter and Ed Armfield. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 PM Wednesday at Davidson Funeral Home. Mrs. Leonard was born November 26, 1926 in Davidson County to Crawford Lee Swing and Tempie Elizabeth Younts Swing. She was a homemaker and member of Linwood United Methodist Church. Her husband, Carl Richard Leonard, preceded her in death, as well as her brothers, Billy Lee Swing, Dallas Swing, and Dolan Swing; and her sisters, Frances Parks, Rachel Penninger, Gertrude Swing, and Inez Troutman. She is survived by her daughter, Meta Leonard Shook and husband, Ricky, of Linwood; her grandson, Ricky Shook, Jr. of Lexington; her great grandsons, Dalton and Daylen Shook; and her sisters, Marie Fallenstein and Mary Grace Chapman, both of Lexington.
