Mechell, our beloved daughter, wife, mother, sister, and best friend went to be with her Heavenly Father on December 3, 2007 after fighting a valiant battle with Multiple Myeloma for almost 5 years. The funeral service will be 2:00 PM Thursday at Davidson Funeral Home Lexington Chapel with Rev. Burton Williams officiating. Entombment will follow at Forest Hill Memorial Park.
Kathy Mechell Boles Brodar was born in Danbury, NC on October 30, 1959 to Carl Boles and Kathleen Stevens Boles. She graduated from North Stokes High School in 1978 and Appalachian State University in 1983. She was an office manager for Brodar Chiropractic for 20 years, taking loving care of her patients and staff. Mechell was a loving wife for 20 years and a wonderful mother to Canon. She was preceded in death by grandparents Grady and Stella Stevens; William and Rosa Boles, and a special Uncle Dewey Stevens and her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Drs. John & Jacie Brodar.
Surviving are Dr. Steven John Brodar of the home; beloved son, Steven Canon Brodar of the home; her parents of Danbury and a brother, Jeffrey Boles and wife Cheryl of Winston Salem; nieces; Savanna Brodar and Holli Brodar both of Lexington and Lauren Marrow of Winston Salem; Nephews, Michael Trent Yarbrough of Lexington; Andrew Boles and Ethan Boles of Pinnacle and Nathan Marrow of Winston Salem; brother-in-law, Danny Brodar and wife Wendy of Cana, VA and Dwight Brodar and wife Jackie of Lexington and sister in law, Becky Brodar of Rutherfordton. She is also survived by many cousins, aunts and uncles.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Wednesday at Davidson Funeral Home Lexington and at other times at the home.
