Melanie Holder

Melanie Sue Hurlocker Holder, age 69, of Lexington, passed away peacefully at the Hinkle Hospice House in Lexington on June 10, 2024. Born on September 15, 1954, she was the beloved daughter of Clyde Bangle Hurlocker and Nelle Tuttle Dozier, who preceded her in death.

Funeral Service for Melanie will be held at Summerville Baptist Church Saturday, June 22 at 11:00 with Pastor Thomas Frizzell officiating.

Melanie was a member of Summerville Baptist Church which she enjoyed.  She had a true affection for Pastor Thomas Frizzell and the way in which he preached the gospel.  She immediately felt loved and welcomed by her Sunday school class and thoroughly enjoyed lessons taught by Barbara Foster and Rick Surratt.  In a very short period of time Melanie was surrounded by new, loving and caring friends that supported her and her family even until she received her final eternal reward.

Melanie is survived by her devoted husband, Charles "Buddy" Holder; her loving son, Brad Holder, and his wife Jenny; and her cherished daughter, Brooke Palmer, and her husband Phil. She is also fondly remembered by her brother, Tommy Hurlocker, and his wife Mert; her sister, Janice Icard, and her husband Bob.

Her legacy lives on through her grandchildren: Christian Holder, Finley Holder, and Josie Holder, who will forever hold her memory in their hearts.

Memorials may be made to Hinkle Hospice House 200 Hospice Way Lexington, NC 27292 in Melanie’s memory.

Lunch will be provided for close family members after the service.

Melanie's warmth, kindness, and love will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
