Melba Faulk Brewer

Melba Faulk Brewer, 81, of Lexington Health Care, died Thursday, July 03, 2014, at the nursing home. The funeral will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 7, 2014, at Davidson Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Frankie Matthews and Preacher Clyde Akers officiating. A private burial at National Cemetery will follow. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 9:30 to 11 a.m. prior to the service. Mrs. Brewer was born October 3, 1932, in Montgomery County, to Alex A. Faulk and Mary Horne Faulk. She retired from PPG Industries where she had worked in the fabrication department. She was a member of Sheets Memorial Baptist Church and PPG Retirees. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Arvel Bryce Bewer; daughter, Vickie Moody Finney; brothers, Ben Faulk, G.B. Faulk, Roy Faulk and Robert Faulk; and sisters, Flossie Peacock, Clyde McDonald and Hortence Powell. Surviving are daughter, Missy Langley and husband Kelvin of Lexington; son, Doug Brewer of Welcome; grandchildren, Kevin Moody, Tiffany Moody, Wendi Story, Zach Brewer and wife Kim, and Kelli Langley; great-grandchildren, Alisha Moody and Christian Moody; brother, Hugh Faulk of Lexington; and sisters, Shirley Milsap and husband Jay of Lexington, and Elizabeth Giddens of Cochran, Ga. Memorials may be made to Sheets Memorial Baptist Church, 210 Cotton Grove Road, Lexington, NC 27292; or Hospice of Davidson County, 200 Hospice Way, Lexington, NC 27292.
