Melba White Koontz, 79, of Queens Drive, died Wednesday, January 20, 2016, at Hinkle Hospice House.
A memorial service will be 3 p.m. Sunday, January 24, 2016, at Davidson Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Chip Webb officiation. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home from 2 to 3 p.m.
Mrs. Koontz was born June 7, 1936, in Texas, to Charles Delphus White and Cornelia Smith White. She was retired from PPG. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a sister, Betty Nimmons.
Surviving are her loving husband, Don Hulin Koontz of the home; sons, Garry Koontz and wife Janice of Florida, and Stuart Koontz of Virginia; daughters, Rhonda Tysinger and husband Randy, Janet Horne and husband Tommy, all of Lexington; grandchildren, Raymond Koontz, Courtney Hines and husband Chris, Chelsea Tysinger, Caitlin Tysinger, and Sarah Horne; great-grandchildren, Madison Hines and Emma Littleton; brother, Wayne White and wife Barbara of Texas; and aunt, Pearline Finney of Texas.
