Melba Mae Coe Loman

August 1, 1922 — January 17, 2006

Melba Mae Coe Loman, 83, of Queens Road, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, Jan. 17, 2006, at Alston Brook Nursing Home after declining health of one year. The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday at East End Baptist Church, where she was a member, by the Revs. Jerry Bowan, Jimmy Greene and Donnie Walker. Burial will be in Forest Hill Memorial Park. Mrs. Loman was born in Surry County on Aug. 1, 1922, to Jesse Lee Coe and Mary Lou Robinson Coe. She was a former employee of Dixie Furniture. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, James Thomas Loman; two brothers, William "Buck" Coe and Jesse Lee Coe Jr.; and two sisters, Nancy Lewis and Doris Maurine Gunter. Surviving are one brother, Ken Coe of High Point; two sisters, Billie Everhart and Mabel Fowler, both of Lexington; and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 tonight at Davidson Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel, and at other times at the home of her sister, Billie, 108 Queens Road.
