Melissa Holmes

Melissa Ann Cox Holmes, 44, of Parker Street, died Wednesday, January 16, 2008, at Lexington Memorial Hospital. A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday January 23, 2008 at Beck’s Lutheran Church, where she was a member, by Pastor Derek Boggs. Mrs. Holmes was born September 19, 1963, in San Diego County, Calif., to Stanley Eugene Cox and Linda Frances Carlson Cox. She was the owner and operator of Hair by Melissa. Mrs. Holmes was preceded in death by her father. Surviving are sons, Sgt. Jonathan Eugene Norton, serving in Iraq, Ethan Vance Adkins of Lexington; daughters, Tamara Mae Norton of Lexington; grandsons, Isaiah Moore and Isaac Moore, both of Lexington; sisters, Melanie L. Salvaggio of Modesto, Calif., and Michelle L. Bumgardner of Chattanooga, Tn.; son-in-law, Walter Alexander Moore, Jr.; daughter-in-law, Jessica Hege Norton of Germany and her former husband, Randy Joe Norton of Lexington. The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 a.m. prior to the service in the church parlor and other times at the home of her daughter, Tamara on Jeanette Drive.
