Melvin Rudolph Bunting

Melvin Rudolph (Beatty)  Bunting, age 94 formerly of Paddington Drive, passed away Thursday, August 14, 2019 at Lexington Health Care.

A graveside service will be held 11:00 am Monday August 19, 2019 at Forest Hill Memorial Park with Rev. Elizabeth Horton officiating. Burial will follow with Military Honors by Davidson County Honor Guard.

Melvin was born in Davidson County April 11, 1925 to Rastus Bunting and Alice Minnie Leonard Bunting. He was a retired employee of Manhattan Shirt Company with 29 years of service and had attended First Reformed United Church of Christ. He was a veteran of the US Army having served in World War II, member of VFW Post 3074, American Legion Post 8, Amvets Post 13 and a member of Lexington Moose Lodge. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Francis (Check) Bunting and Leonard (Doc) Bunting.

Surviving are his son, Sandy Bunting and his wife Sarah of Myrtle Beach, SC;  His grandchildren, Jamie, Jenny and Shawn all of S. Carolina.  His nieces, Frankie Byrd and Becky Daley  both of Lexington.
