Meredith Harris Mize

Meredith Harris Mize, age 68 of Julia Lane, Lexington passed away Saturday afternoon October 3, 2009 at her home. Funeral service will be held 2:00 pm Tuesday October 6, 2009 at Pilgrim Reformed Church with Rev. Barry Surratt officiating. Burial will follow in Pilgrim Reformed Church Cemetery. Meredith was born in Montgomery County, NC, January 30, 1941 to Augusta (Bunch) Alexander Saunders and Elisha Jones Harris She was a homemaker and a member of Pilgrim Reformed Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, Maie Ward and Sarah Dorsett and one brother, Jack Harris. Surviving are: her husband of 49 years, Jimmy “Don” Mize of the home; three daughters, Lisa Mize Melton and husband Charles Wayne Melton Jr. of Lexington, Bonnie Mize Canoy and husband Herman Eugene Canoy Sr. of Sophia, and Donna Jean Mize of the home; two grandchildren, Steven Gerald Spangle and wife Amanda and Herman Eugene Canoy, Jr. and wife Amy; one great-granddaughter, Kaylah Marie Canoy; one brother, William (Bill) Harris and wife Mary of Silver Valley. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 pm Monday at Davidson Funeral Home and at other times at the home.
