Merita Worley Hodgson

Merita Hodgson, 78, of Mae Zimmerman Drive in Lexington, passed away Monday July 12, 2021 at her home.

A funeral service will be held 2:00 pm Thursday July 15, 2021 at the Davidson Funeral Home Chapel with Preacher Grady Blackburn and Preacher Tommy Hepler.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm Thursday at the funeral home.

Burial will follow at Forest Hill Memorial Park.

Mrs. Hodgson was born June 17, 1943 in Watauga County to General Grant Worley and Ada Parsons Worley. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Surviving is her husband John Henry Hodgson, of the home; one step son, Charles Simms (Ann) of Virginia; five daughters, Robin Hardy (Mike) of Kernersville, Johnna Carter (Paul) of Lexington, Barbara Shipton (Steve)  of Denton, Tenna Moore (Jeff) of Lexington and Lyrissa Moore of Lexington; two brothers, Brannon Worley (Edith), and Vinston Worley , both of Todd, North Carolina; one sister, Angeleen Davis of Todd, North Carolina; 9 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren.
