Michael Kent Essick

Michael Kent Essick, 51, resident of Welcome, NC passed away Wednesday, June 29, 2011 of a heart attack. Mike was born March 22, 1960 in Davidson County to Bob and Carolyn Essick. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, July 2nd at Center United Methodist Church. A visitation will follow the service. He worked for HPT&D Railroad for 19 years. He was most currently employed as an autobody repairman at Essick’s Auto Sales. Mike enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, especially his son and two young granddaughters. He was preceded in death by his father, Bobby Ellis Essick, brother Pete Essick and sister Cecilia Sue Essick. Mike is survived by his grandmother Frances Wagner Leonard; mother Carolyn Essick, son Hence Essick & wife Candace; granddaughters Dylan and Macy; his brother Joe Essick & wife Dawn and niece Emily. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Christian Fellowship Center of Center United Methodist Church, P. O. Box 179, Welcome, NC 27374. Davidson Funeral Home, Hickory Tree Chapel is assisting the family.
