It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Michael Anthony Scott, a beloved husband, father, brother, and grandfather. He peacefully left this world on July 25, 2023, surrounded by his loving family, in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. Michael's journey began on August 6, 1964, the son of Henry Franklin Scott Sr. and Fannie Ruth Powell Scott.
Services for Michael will be Monday, July 31, 2023, at 3:00 PM, at Open Door Baptist Church in Linwood with Dr. Gary Gibson officiating. The family will visit with friends one hour prior to the service from 2:00 to 3:00 pm.
Michael lived a life marked by love, kindness, and devotion to his family. He was a loving and devoted husband to his wife Cindy Deal, with whom he shared countless beautiful moments and memories. Together, they built a home filled with love, laughter, and warmth.
A devoted father, Michael leaves behind two children who meant the world to him: Michael Christopher Scott, wife Mandy and Deidra Renee Thorne, and husband, Madarius. He loved them unconditionally and supported them in every aspect of their lives, also his brothers, Henry Franklin Scott Jr., his wife Kathy and James Russell Scott, and his wife Angie.
As a doting grandfather, Michael was adored by his grandchildren: Tristen Glass, Cameron Scott, Dominic Scott, and Andrea Thorne. He took great joy in spending time with them, sharing stories, and creating cherished memories.
Michael was a man of faith and was an active member of the Open Door Baptist Church, where he found spiritual solace, guidance, and community. He was a former president of the Salisbury Chapter Sons of the American Revolution and Commander of the Davidson Guards Camp 1851 Sons of the Confederate Veterans.
As we mourn the loss of this remarkable man, let us remember the joy he brought to our lives and the love he shared with each of us. Michael's memory will forever live on in our hearts, and his legacy of love and kindness will continue to inspire us.
