He was also a faithful board member of the Crisis Ministry of Davidson County, and he volunteered with the Pastor’s Pantry and Meals on Wheels. His Sunday School class, Crusaders, opened the homeless shelter in Lexington. Mickey enjoyed numerous mission trips nationally and internationally, including serving on Disaster Relief Teams for North Carolina Baptist Men. Mickey was known for his wit and humor and loved competition in sports, especially tennis, and games. He won numerous medals both on the local and state level in the Senior Games for table tennis, tennis and horseshoes. Mickey was a true beachcomber, enjoying spending time at Ocean Isle Beach with his family and his boat. During his retirement years he loved to travel with Judy and visit with his children and grandchildren. Arrangements are being handled by Davidson Funeral Home.
