Mr. Michael Norman Allred, 58, of Amber Lane, died suddenly on Wednesday, May 31, 2017. A funeral service will be held at 2pm Sunday, June 4th at Mt. Tabor United Church of Christ, by the Rev. Darrell Sluder. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 pm Saturday, June 3 at Davidson Funeral Home and other times at the home of his brother on Amber Lane, Lexington. Mr. Allred was born March 25th, 1959 in Davidson County to Samuel Adolph Allred and Arlene Barrier Allred. He was a 1977 graduate of Central Davidson High School and a 1981 graduate of Appalachian State University. He worked in the furniture industry for many years and served as Director of Distribution Operations for Thomasville Furniture. He was a faithful member of Mt. Tabor United Church of Christ, where he served as President of the Consistory and the Men’s Brotherhood. He was also an avid golfer and enjoyed tennis and running. He is survived by his wife, Carolyn Kinney Allred of the home; his sons, Jordan Michael Allred and wife, Kristen, of Raleigh, Matthew Ryan Allred of Greensboro, and Evan Kinney Allred of Lexington; his brother, Rick Allred and wife, Stephanie, of Lexington; his sisters, Debbie Newsom and husband, Larry, of Lexington, and Cathy Fleming and husband, Dixon, of Salisbury; sisters-in-law, Donna Robb and husband Frank and Kaye Hobson and husband Mark; and nine nieces and nephews.
