Mikilene Quesenberry Hinsch of Lexington, NC passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 22, 2026 at the age of 51.

She was born on April 6, 1974, in Rocky Mount, NC to the late Arnold “Butch” Quesenberry and the late Navahlia Quesenberry, formerly of Lexington, NC. Mikilene grew up on W. 2nd Avenue in the historic Woodberry residence. She found joy in helping her mother lead the Lexington and Denton Cotillion Clubs, teaching etiquette and manners to the next generation. She was also active in the Lexington community theatre. Mikilene spent her summers in the mountains as a child and teen at Camp Grier in Old Fort, NC where she eventually served as a camp counselor, pouring back into the camp’s attention to equipping youth with life skills, confidence, and faith through outdoor adventure.

Mikilene was a 1992 graduate of Central Davidson High School where she was a varsity cheerleader. She graduated from Western Carolina University in 1997 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Child Development and Family Relations. She was a steadfast member, sister, and friend in Phi Mu sorority, Gamma Mu chapter. Upon college graduation Mikilene started a career as a flight attendant with US Airways before transitioning to the mortgage industry in Charlotte and Waxhaw, NC where she lived with her two daughters who grew to love Lexington and Camp Grier as much as Mikilene. She spent her remaining years back in her beloved Lexington.

Mikilene is survived by her daughters, Abby Scott O’Donovan and Carver O’Donovan; her brother, Scott Quesenberry and his wife, Heather; her nephew, Arnold Quesenberry; her niece, Elizabeth Quesenberry; and her aunt, Joella Hanners Maxon.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
