Milbron Potts

July 26, 1921 — February 15, 2014

Milbron “Mib” Eddie Potts, Sr. age 92 of River Drive, Linwood went home to be with the Lord Saturday morning at Abbotts Creek Care. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm Wednesday in the Davidson Funeral Home Chapel with Revs. Brian Alexander and Lamar Moore officiating. Burial will follow in Lexington City Cemetery with military honors by the National Honor Guard. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 12:30 until 1:30 prior to the service. Mib was born in Davidson County, July 26, 1921 to Eddie Albert and Myrtle Hartley Potts. He was a member of Center Hill Baptist Church for 62 years and served as a Sunday School teacher Deacon and loved the Lord. He was a retired employee of North Carolina Finishing Company with 45 years of service; he served in the US Army during World War II as a Tech 4th grade and participated in the battle of Normandy, Northern France, Rhineland and Central Europe. He loved to share his service experiences with others. Mib had a passion for the outdoors, baseball, softball and his family. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Mildred Atkins Potts in 1986; his second wife, Emily C. Potts in 2007; grandson, Mark Potts; sisters, Inez Barnes, Juanita Bailey, Vida Davis, Loretta Walser and Shirley Shore; brothers, Grimes and Calvin Potts. Surviving are his daughter, Connie Potts Martin of Lexington; son, Milbron Eddie Potts, Jr. (Shirlene) of Salisbury; grandchildren, Tracie Walker of Winston Salem, Chad B. Walker (Kim) of Lexington and Brian Potts of Salisbury; great-grandchildren, Keely and Kendric Smoot, Alari Walker all of Winston Salem, Katelyn and Madison Glosson of Lexington, Taylor Glosson of Florida. The family would like to thank the staff of Abbotts Creek Center for their love and care given to our dad and family during his stay.
