Funeral service will be held 2:00 pm Thursday, January 21, 2016 in the Davidson Funeral Home Chapel with Revs. Bill Wooten and Marvin Carson officiating and burial will follow at Forest Hill Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at Davidson Funeral Home from 1:00 until 2:00 pm prior to the service. Mildred was born in Swain County, NC September 2, 1932 to James Homer and Talitha Frances Laws Sutton. She was a retired employee of Coble Dairy and of the Free Will Baptist Faith. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Rev. Clarence Ballew; sisters, Della Queen and Barbara Crawford. Surviving are one daughter, Wanda Lookabill (Tony) of Lexington; one son, Wayne Ballew (Pat) of Lexington; grandchildren, T.J. Lookabill (Jennifer Page) and Travis Ballew; great-grandchildren, Blake and Caitlin Lookabill and Emma Caroline Ballew; sisters, Kay Gordon, Janice Osborne, Marie Queen, Linda Sadler all of Lexington and Shirley Norris of Tabor City.
