Mildred Cabe Buchanan

Mildred Frances Cabe Buchanan, 76, of Lexington, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, December 23.   A funeral service will be held at 2 pm Wednesday, December 28 at Meadowview Presbyterian Church with the Revs. Chris Bitterman and Frances Smith officiating.  Burial will follow at Forest Hill Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 12 until 2 pm Wednesday prior to the funeral service.   Mrs. Buchanan was born May 7, 1940 in Jackson County, NC to Grover and Odessa Cabe.  She retired from Lexington Memorial Hospital and was a member of Meadowview Presbyterian Church. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and had great love for her family.  Her brothers, Eldon Cabe, Charlie Cabe, James Cabe, and Ben Cabe; and her sister, Lou Shirley, preceded her in death.   She is survived by her husband of sixty years and one day, Kenneth Buchanan of the home; her sons, Kevin Buchanan (Melisa) and Russell Buchanan (Ginger), both of Lexington; her brother, Andrew Cabe (Barbara) of Sylva; her sisters, Irene Leonard (Jimmy) and Christine Fowler, both of Lexington, and Ruth Cantrell (Kenneth) of Georgia; and her grandchildren, Amber, Stephanie, Zoey, Ben, Evan, Tori, Donnie and Jacob.   In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of Davidson County, 200 Hospice Way, Lexington NC 27292, or Meadowview Presbyterian Church, Missions Ministries, One Grace Way Drive Lexington NC 27295.
