Mildred Ann Coppley

Mildred Ann Lopp Coppley, age 88, of Lexington passed away on Wednesday, November 23, 2016 at Lexington Health Care.   A funeral service will be held on Saturday (November 26, 2016) at 2:00 pm at Sheets Memorial Baptist Church with Pastor Frankie Matthews officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Hill Memorial Park.   The family will receive friends from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm prior to the service.   Mrs. Coppley was born on June 15, 1928 in Davidson County to Banks Irvin Lopp and Emma Lee Ray Lopp. She was a member of Sheets Memorial Baptist Church and assisted in the Sheets School Library from 1994 until 2007. She retired from the American Children’s Home in Lexington. In addition to her parents; she was preceded in death by her husband, Authur Roy Coppley.   Surviving are her two sons, Christopher Coppley and wife Karen of Lexington, and Michael Coppley and wife Karen of Trinity; her daughter, Millana Coppley Lee of Longs, SC; a sister, Nancy Scarlett of Lexington; 5 grandchildren, Andrew Coppley and wife Ashton, Patrick Coppley, Neil Coppley and wife Mandy, Ross Coppley, and Ginger Elledge and husband Gregg; 2 great grandchildren, Nathan Watkins and wife Amber, and Philip Watkins; 2 step great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren; a special niece, Donna Scarlett; and special friends, Carolyn Bruff, Jean Varner, and Francis Bellamy.   Memorials may be directed to the Sheet Memorial Baptist Church Stewardship Fund at 210 Cotton Grove Road Lexington, NC 27292.
