Mildred King age 88 of Lou Lane, Lexington passed away Saturday, September 24, 2016 at her home.
Funeral service will be held 2:00 pm at First Alliance Church where she was a member with Rev. Paul Titus and Rev. Tommy Kidd officiating. Burial will follow at Pilgrim Reformed Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Davidson Funeral Home from 6:00 until 8:00 pm Tuesday night and at other times at the home.
Mildred was born in Davidson County, September 30, 1927. Her father was Jake Olin Byerly and she was raised by her grandmother Lou Ella Byerly, as her mother died when she was two. She was a retired employee of Duracell, a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Surviving are her husband, Gail Charles King of the home; daughter, Mary Frances Vaspory of Lexington; son, Roger Holloman of Asheboro; grandchildren, Steven Dewayne Scott (Misty) of Monroe, Wendy Michelle Blum (Roger) of Greensboro, Amy Holloman of Lexington; great-grandchildren Kimberly Boman (Gram) of Mocksville;, Brittany Madden (J.J.) of Charleston, Aaron Scott of Mocksville and McKenzie Blum of Greensboro; great-great-grandchild, Gage Boman of Mocksville; special friends, Lynn and Reba Hill.
The family would like to thank her caregiver Grace and the staff of Community Home Care and Hospice for all their love and care given to Mildred.
