Mildred Gelanie Goforth Smith, 79, of NC Highway 150, died Thursday, August 22, 2013, at Hinkle Hospice House following several years of declining health.
The funeral will be 3 p.m. Saturday, August 24, 2013, at Davidson Funeral Home Chapel, with the Revs. Michael Greer and Jack Stoner. Burial will follow in Greers Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday, August 24, 2013, one hour prior to the service at Davidson Funeral Home and other times at the home of her daughter on Marion Circle.
Mrs. Smith was born July 25, 1934, to Lonnie Lester Goforth and Alvertie Prevette Goforth. She was retired from PPG Industries. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Leroy Smith Sr.; daughter, Deborah Michael; and brother, Carlos Goforth.
Surviving are daughters, Wanda Morrow and husband Steve of Lexington and Tina Brigman and husband Garland of Shallotte; six grandchildren, Jennifer Everhart, Buddy Michael, Jimmie Michael, Jarret Cope, Jordynn Morrow, and Alison Cooke; and 10 great-grandchildren.
