Miles Chester Yokeley, 73, passed away yesterday at his residence in Davidson County.
Miles was born on December 5, 1952, to the late Vance Gerald Yokeley and Marjorie Beam Yokeley. A hardworking and mechanically gifted man, Miles lived a life grounded in simplicity, dedication, and love for his family. He was a true family man who found joy in the outdoors, especially fishing, boating, and farming—activities that reflected his steady nature and appreciation for a life well lived.
In addition to his parents, Miles was preceded in death by his brother, Gerald Vance Yokeley.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Paulette Smith Yokeley; his daughter, Diana Nelson (David); his sister, Nancy Young (Doug); five cherished grandchildren, Lynette Nelson, Madelyn Nelson, Annabeth Nelson, Roslyn Nelson, and Vanessa Nelson; his step-son, Brad Mayhew (Anna); and his step-grandson, Mason Mayhew.
A memorial service to honor Miles’ life will be held at Davidson Funeral Home of Winston-Salem on Friday, February 6, 2026, beginning at 11:00 a.m., with visitation one hour prior at 10:00 a.m.
