Millard Stanford

Mr. Millard Eugene Stanford, 84, formerly of Tyro Road, died Sunday, April 29 at the W.G. “Bill” Hefner VA Medical Center in Salisbury. A private interment at National Cemetery will be held. Mr. Stanford was born July 12, 1927 in Knox County, TN to Edmond Marion Stanford and Rosa Padgett Stanford. He was a veteran of the US Marine Corps and faithfully served his country during World War II. He later retired from the Exxon Company. His son, Stephen Stanford, and his daughter, Jo Ellen Hodges, preceded him in death, as well as his brother, Tommy Stanford, and his sisters, Helen Stamey, and Velma Winn. He is survived by his daughter, Cathy Stanford of Lexington; his brother, E. H. “Harold” Stanford of Lexington; his sisters, Margaret Egglenick, Joyce Owens, and Rachel Everhart, all of Lexington; his grandchildren, Tobi Lockwood, and husband, Steven, of Lexington and Angela Johnson, and husband, Heath, of Mooresville; and his greatest joy, his great granddaughter, Logan Lockwood.
