Milton Dale Garner, 85, of N. County Home Road, died Sunday, March 15, 2015, at Hinkle Hospice House.
The funeral will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 18, 2015, at Davidson Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Jamie Kent and Jim Groome officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Hill Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home and other times at the home of his daughter on Becks Nursery Road.
Mr. Garner was born June 26, 1929, in Davidson County, to Charlie Clyde Garner and Jessie Parks Garner. He was retired from Lexington Telephone Company after 30 years of service, where he had been an installer. After retirement Mr. Garner was also an avid volunteer for the Companion Call Light Program through Lexington Memorial Hospital. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a great-granddaughter, Abigail Marie Hedrick.
Surviving are his loving wife of 64 years, Treva Hill Garner of the home; son, Tim Garner and wife Connie of Lexington; daughter, Luanne Hedrick and husband Grady of Lexington; grandchildren, Amanda Garner Medlin and husband Kiel, Ethan Harlen Hedrick and wife Jenny, and Emily Hedrick Towery and husband Adam; great-grandchild, Grayson Garner Medlin.
