Minnie Crowell Davis

Minnie Crowell Davis, 88, of Fairview Drive, died Wednesday, April 30, 2008, at her home. The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 3, 2008, at First Baptist Church of Lexington, where she was a member, by Dr. Ray Howell 3rd and the Rev. Tommy Wilson. Burial will follow in Lexington City Cemetery. Mrs. Davis was born April 17, 1920, in Davidson County to David Lowry Crowell and Florence Ada Lookabill Crowell. At her church she was a member of the Good News Sunday school class and active in the Senior Adult Ministries and Choir. She was a charter member of Fairview Garden Club and Lexington Civinettes. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert Crippon “HC” Davis Sr. Surviving are her son, Dr. Herbert C. Davis Jr. and wife, Newell, of Lexington; grandchildren, Rachael Davis Cruickshank and husband, Andy, of Durham and Elizabeth Davis Raynor and husband, Wayne, of Blowing Rock; great-grandchildren, Katherine Davis Cruickshank and Ellen Elizabeth Cruickshank; brother, S.M. “Bill” Crowell of Lexington; and special friend Jane Cox of Lexington. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Davidson Funeral Home and other times at the home. Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church HVAC Fund, P.O.
