Mrs. Minnie Powell Hutchins, 94, of Reynolda Park Assisted Living in Winston Salem, and formerly of Lexington, died Friday at Forsyth Medical Center after a brief illness.
The funeral service will be held at 2:30 PM Sunday, February 17 at First Pentecostal Holiness Church, where she was a member, officiated by Rev. Wayne Knight, Rev. Tommy McGee and Rev. Harold Cox. Burial will follow at Forest Hill Memorial Park.
Mrs. Hutchins was born September 11, 1913 in Burke County to James Powell and Martha Jane Loehman Powell. She was a homemaker and a member of First Pentecostal Holiness Church. Her husband, Rev. J.R. Hutchins, and her sons: Carlyle Hutchins, Samuel Hutchins, Charlie Hutchins, Rayvon Hutchins, and Marcus Hutchins preceded her in death.
She is survived by her sons: Joe Hutchins, and wife, Gail, of Lexington, and Jimmy D. Hutchins, and wife, Betty; her daughters: Rebecca Cherry and husband, Ronald, of Mt. Holly, and Sylvia Hutchens and husband, Eddie, of Pfafftown; 16 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren, and 5 great great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 PM Saturday at Davidson Funeral Home and other times at the home of her son, Joe Hutchins, on W. Center St Ext., Lexington.
