Minnie Charlotte Surratt Kinney

Minnie Charlotte Surratt Kinney, 93, died Monday, August 22, 2011, at Lexington Health Care. The funeral will be 4 p.m. Friday, August 26, 2011, at Bethany United Methodist Church, where she was a member, with the Rev. David Talbert officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 3 to 4 p.m. at the church. Mrs. Kinney was born February 27, 1918, in Guilford County, to Charlie Howard Surratt and Alice Carrick Surratt. She was formerly a supervisor of the Weave Room at Klopman Mills. Minnie was a mother to all and will be missed greatly. At her church she taught Sunday school for 31 years, was a member of the United Methodist Women, a Lay Leader and a member of the church choir. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, George Kinney, who died August 1991; brothers, Ralph Surratt and Bob Surratt; and sister, Helen Morrison. Surviving are her loving sister, Pauline Surratt Craver; lots of nieces and nephews whom she loved very much, some of them that looked after her were, Richard and Marsha Craver, Krystle and Joe Johnson, Nick and Heather Craver, Michael and Vickie Morrow, Alice and Rachael Howard, Tina and Matthew Peach and her neighbor Buddy and Barbara Young.
