Minnie Leona Peacock Anderson

The Lord has opened his arms for me. My lovely Rose is coming to see me!! Minnie Leona Peacock Anderson, 91, of Western Blvd., went to be with the Lord on Thursday, March 18, 2010, at Abbotts Creek Care and Rehabilitation Center. The funeral will be 3 p.m. Saturday, March 20, 2010, at Sheets Memorial Baptist Church, where she was a member, with the Rev. Frankie Matthews officiating. Burial will follow in Lexington City Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. prior to the service at the church and other times at the home. Mrs. Anderson was born April 18, 1918, in Davidson County, to Thomas Jefferson Peacock and Mary Roseanna Carrick Peacock. She was married to William Noah Anderson Sr., who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her brothers, Edward Peacock and Garthie Peacock; and a half brother, Harvey Owen. Surviving are sons, William Noah Anderson Jr., Donald Anderson, Larry Anderson, and Danny Anderson; a daughter, Linda Anderson Mize of Lexington; 10 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and a sister, Vada Peacock Cameron of China Grove. Memorials may be made to Sheets Memorial Baptist Church Van Mize Scholarship Fund, 210 Cotton Grove Road, Lexington, NC 27292; or a charity of the donor’s choice.
