Mitchell Gray Money

Mitch “Papa” Money of Midway, age 66, passed away on Wednesday, March 20, 2024, at his home. He was born in Surry County on October 3, 1957, to Guy and Barbara Money.

Papa was such a devoted husband to his wife Lois. He loved hunting and fishing but most of all he loved going racing with his daughter Gina and grandson Andy, with granddaughter Brittany by their side cheering them on. To know him was to love him and laugh with him.

He is survived by his five daughters: Gina Combs (Todd), Kasey Money (Barry), Michelle Money, Debbie Frye (Danny), and Donna Atkins, two brothers, Mike Money, Manford Money, and a sister, Misty Puckett; several grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Mitch was preceded in death by his parents and the love of his life, wife, Delores “Lois” Bassett Money.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, March 25, 2024, at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens with Pastor Charlie Martin officiating. Burial will follow the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Mitch’s name to Cornerstone Baptist Church, 4507 Thomasville Road Winston-Salem, North Carolina 27107.
