Moiena McGaha Swing, 81 of Alston Brook Nursing Home and formerly of Old Linwood Road, Lexington died Friday March 10, 2006 in Alston Brook Nursing Home.
Mrs. Swing was born on November 7, 1924 in Franklin, NC to Rufus Marion McGaha and Alice Faye Byrd McGaha. She was a former employee of Wenonah Cotton Mill and Duracell Battery and member of Tellico Baptist Church in Franklin, NC. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husbands, Robert Price Swing and William D. Green; sisters, Adlee Fulbright, Novella Hedrick, Eula Smith and brothers, James, Verlus, Felton, and Jess McGaha.
Mrs. Swing is survived by a son Ricky Price Swing of Lexington; daughters; Carolyn Green Everhart and husband Paul; Melinda Swing Durkee and Kathy Swing Shoaf and husband Lavon all of Lexington and Saundra Green Jones of Myrtle Beach, SC.
She is also survived by thirteen grandchildren; Annette Everhart Hutchinson and husband Mark of Amelia, VA; Gina Pugh of Myrtle Beach; Randy Everhart and wife Allison; Eric Everhart and wife Lori; Bobby Shoaf and wife Kim; Wesley Shoaf; Ricky Heath Swing; John Swing; Robert Swing Spivey; Tim Swing Spivey all of Lexington; Melissa Vickers Bryant and husband Keith of Jamestown; Steven Truell and wife Mary and Chris Pugh and wife Ashlie all of Winston Salem; and thirteen great-grandchildren; Timothy and Josh Hutchinson; Nathan and Jared Everhart; Zeb and Zalen Pugh; Nicholas, Stacey and Addy Everhart; Davis and Thomas Bryant; Eva Truell and Logan Shoaf.
The funeral service will be 2:00 pm Sunday March 12, 2006 in the Davidson Funeral Home Lexington Chapel by the Rev. Billy Pearson and Rev. Wade (Bud) Powell. Burial will follow in the Lexington City Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 pm Saturday at Davidson Funeral Home in Lexington and other times at 3539 Old Linwood Rd., Lexington.
