Mona Smith Burkhart

Mona Gail Smith Burkhart, 79, passed away Thursday April 8, 2021 at the Lexington Health Care Center in Lexington, where she was a resident.

A graveside service will be held 2:00 pm Monday at Mt. Tabor United Church of Church, where she attended.

Mrs. Burkhart was born October 15, 1941 in Davidson County to Artis Carl Smith and Ruth Elizabeth Money . Mona enjoyed flowers, gardening and especially enjoyed Halloween, preparing a meal for a lot of family and friends to visit her displays. She was preceded in death by her parents, her daughter, Lisa Brunson, and a sister-in-law, Sherry Smith.

Surviving is a son, Randall Burkhart of Lexington; two brothers, Jerry Smith (Evelyn) and Roger Dale Smith both of Lexington; one sister, Joan Elizabeth Clingerman of Lexington; two grandchildren, Kevin Brunson of Thomasville and Kayla Burkhart Gray (Chris) of Reedy Creek; and two great-grandchildren.
