Monna Dale Jones

July 21, 1964 — December 23, 2015

Monna Dale Jones of Rock Hill, SC received her angel wings on December 23, 2015, after a full and rewarding journey ending a six year battle with sarcoma cancer. Monna was born to Gray and Carla Jones of the Tyro community in Lexington on July 21, 1964. She graduated from West Davidson High School in 1982 and Appalachian State University in 1986. She later obtained two Master’s Degrees from Pfeiffer University. During her entire career she worked in the health care field as a consultant and software implementation specialist for various companies. Her last employment was with Patient Keeper in Massachusetts. Monna was preceded in death by her grandparents and two aunts. She is survived by her mother and father of Tyro; brother, Jeff (Heather) of Chapin, SC; nephew Austin and niece, Reiley of Myrtle Beach, SC; special friend Kevin McLaughlin of Chester, SC; her uncle and aunt Mike and Shirley Jacobs of Cooleemee, NC; special cousin, Jennifer Young of Salisbury, NC; and several more cousins. Davidson Funeral Home in Lexington is assisting the family. There will be a visitation with the family from 6 to 8 on Saturday, Jan. 2, at Tyro United Methodist Church. A celebration of life service will be conducted at the church at 3:30 on Sunday, January 3. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to The Duke Cancer Sarcoma Fund, 710 West Main Street, Suite 200, Durham, NC 27701; or Tyro United Methodist Church, 4484 S. NC Highway 150, Lexington, NC 27295. Monna was a light that shined into the lives of her family and friends throughout the country. He light is not gone but now is shining in Heaven.
